Staffing Update & Room Changes
In September we will be having a few room changes. Sharon who has been in our Ladybird Room for the last 3 months will be returning to our Pre-school from September, working alongside Lynne. To support Ashlee’s learning and development for her level 3 Ashlee will be doing a gradual transition into our Caterpillar room throughout September and become a permanent member of the pre-school team.
This experience will enhance Ashlee’s personal learning development and support the completion of her level 3. Amy B will be taking the room leader position in the Ladybird Room and be working alongside Martha who will be based permanently in our Ladybird Room. Georgia will remain in our Bumblebee Room with Amy D who has joined us as a level 3 apprentice and Rob will be supporting all rooms throughout the week. Lara will also be joining the team as a nursery apprentice.
The caterpillar team have decided that they will be making a few changes to the room layout. Please look out for the future changes as we would love to know your thoughts.
Grace, who has been supporting the nursery since April, will sadly be leaving us on Friday 14th September. Grace is returning to university to continue her studying but will continue to work at A Step Ahead Lower Beeding as a member of our bank team. We look forward to seeing her through the holidays and wish her all the best through her studies.
Lastly, we would like to congratulate Debbie who has been offered a Room Leader position at our Ashington nursery. Debbie will be leaving Lower Beeding on Tuesday 4th September. We wish Debbie all the best in her new role and thank her for her continuous support at Lower Beeding.
Our pre-school team will be holding an information evening for all pre-school parents to attend. This is a chance for you to meet the team and other parents. The team wish to discuss their aims and prospects for the academic year ahead. The evening will be held Monday 24th September 2018 starting at 6:30pm. If you wish to attend please contact the office to confirm your attendance.
We are in the process of re-developing and designing our garden area. The first area we are focussing on is creating a mud kitchen where the children can explore and experiment. If you have any old pots and pans that you are not using and would like to donate them to us we would be very grateful. We will use the donated kitchen utensils to develop and extend our music wall.
We also want to develop our growing area which the children are very interested in. From September we would like to introduce a gardening club for the children. The children have really enjoyed learning about growth and where different vegetables come from. We have already started to develop and extend our herb garden, but our aim is to start growing fruit and vegetables with the children.
If you have any gardening pots and tools that you longer use, we would be very grateful for any donations that will help support our upcoming plans.
If your child is leaving us for school, we would love to hear your feedback and thoughts of our nursery. We are always trying to develop and improve our service. Your feedback and opinions will really support and help us. We look forward to hearing from you.
This year we have decided to host our first nativity play. Sharon and the team plan to organise a short play for parents and carers to attend, the whole nursery will be involved.
The event will be held Sunday 25th November 2018 at Lower Beeding Village Hall. The nativity will be held at 10:30am. Please keep a look out for further information.
Last year our Winter Wonderland was very successful, this year we wanted to host another event very similar but with a few changes. The event will be open to all friends and families. It will be held in the village hall on Sunday 25th November 2018 between 1:30pm-4pm. Please look out for our advertising and information regarding the event.
Please don’t forget to save the date and invite friends and family to come and join in with the fun. Look out for further details and information.
Following on from our last parent workshop we would like to offer another parent workshop. If you do have a specific topic in mind, that you would like further information on, please do not hesitate to contact Sharon or myself and we would be very happy to organise another event.
We are delighted to inform you that the sensory bus will be returning to nursery Wednesday 12th September. The team will keep you posted.
