Autumn Newsletter 2019 (Rocking Horse)
Rocking Horse Nursery Autumn Term 2019 Newsletter
Welcome to the new term, a warm welcome back to all those who have been on their holidays and a special welcome to our new families who have just joined us. We look forward to sharing your child’s learning journey!
We are just saying goodbye to the last of our school leavers, we have seen some lovely photos of very smart children in their uniforms! We wish them all a fantastic time at their new schools.
I have tweaked the key groups slightly. Our new pre school group will be under the care of Laura, Katie and Rob. If your child has changed key person hopefully by now you have been informed. Please speak to Sarah or I if you are unsure.
Emma, unfortunately, is suffering with ill health and will therefore be absent for the next couple of weeks. Sarah will be taking over her key group to keep the continuity of care, progress and development consistent.
Starting School – next year!
It may seem a long way away at the moment but now is a good time to start to do your homework regarding school admission September 2020. Hampshire County Council website has lots of useful information including schools local to your address and catchment areas. I recommend making appointments to view schools you are interested in to ensure you can make an informed choice.
Term Dates –
These are as follows;
Term Time Only – 2nd September – 13th December, half term – week commencing 28th October.
Children with stretched funding will attend right through until 31st December, excluding Bank Holidays. Thank you to everyone for renewing codes promptly.
Please be advised that from 1st November 2019 we will no longer be accepting cash or cheque payments at any of our nurseries.
Our preferred method of payment will be by BACS transfer directly into our bank account. If you require details of our bank account, please speak to me our contact the Accounts Manager.
You will also be able to settle your account by debit card. If you would like to use this method of payment, please bring your debit card to me and I can arrange this for you.
We will, of course, still be accepting payment via childcare vouchers and the governments Tax Free Childcare scheme.
If you have any queries regarding any of this please do not hesitate to speak to me or our Accounts Manager.
On a similar note, please access the Childcare Choices pages on the HMRC website for information regarding possible help with childcare costs.
Parent’s Evening will be week commencing 7th October.
Each child will have a short summative assessment written by their key person with an opportunity to have an informal chat regarding their progress.
Appointments will be available nearer the time.
McMillan Coffee Morning:
We will be supporting this worthy cause again this year on Saturday 5th October, 10-12pm. More details to follow.

Outdoor Clothing :
Please could you ensure your child has wellies and outerwear available for nursery use. You are very welcome to leave a pair of wellies on the ‘Welly Rack’.
This includes baby group who will also still be using both gardens through the Autumn and Winter.
Following on from last term, I am on the case regarding t shirts and sweatshirts with more details very soon, and I will be in touch with those parents who expressed an interest in the Parent Forum. Finally, we have a very healthy total for our climbing frame which we are sourcing as we speak – super exciting!!
Please speak to me about any of the above,
Best wishes, Helen and the RH team.
