Summer Newsletter 2019 (Lancing)
I am sure you have all met them by now but we would like to formally welcome Amy, Chelsea and Chanise to the nursery team! They are full time, level 3 qualified and are full of new ideas. Chanise is the butterfly room leader. We would also like to officially welcome our new chef Andy – he has cooked up some delicious meals for your children and the new menu is going down a treat! We also have 2 new members of bank staff – Caitlin who is mainly based in the baby room and Chloe who is mainly in the Butterfly room.
They have all settled in very well and we love having them here!
Sadly, we said goodbye to Nyssa after ten years of working in the company! She felt it was time for a new challenge but she will be very missed. Catherine who currently works in the baby room is stepping up to Deputy Manager.
If your child is going to school this September please remember to let a member of staff know what your child’s final date at nursery will be. We are also holding a Leavers Party on the 20th July at 2.30pm and hope to see you all there! If you would like to attend, please let Abbie or Catherine know in the office so we can put your name down.
We will have a fun hour spent at Mighty Mites followed by a picnic! Please bring your own picnic with drinks and please remember, no nuts!
We are now collecting prizes for a nursery raffle. This was a great success last year with lots of families winning lovely prizes. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, please bring it in to nursery with you. Tickets will be on sale from 1st July 2019.
If you haven’t signed up already we do all observations and assessments online now and you can see these through an app called Parent Zone. Just download the app and ask either Abbie or Catherine in the office to send you login details. Please feel free to add your own pictures of what your child has done at home, this will be a great chance for us to talk to them about what they have got up to!
Observations are all about the quality, not the quantity. Your child could have one observations every 2 weeks but this observation could be linked to many areas of the EYFS.
Please can all parents and carers make sure they are sun-creaming their child before coming into nursery. We will reapply sun-cream to the children staying all day or after water play.
Please remember to pack weather appropriate clothing for your child, including sun hats and shorts but also a light jacket just in case it gets cold! Also if you could please name all items that your child owns as we have many duplicates!
Please make sure you are checking through the lost property box as at the end of each month it will be taken to the charity shop, thank you!
If your child has a packed lunch please make sure you are providing a healthy option in there, such as a piece of fruit or vegetables and make sure there are NO nuts.
If your child won’t be coming in for whatever reason, whether they be unwell, have a day at home or holiday please make sure you are letting the nursery know. Either email or alert a member of staff, thank you.
One last reminder, please make sure you collect your children on time. We normally ask that parents arrive ten minutes before their child’s end session to get a full hand over but bear in mind that pick up times can be busy so you might have to wait a minute for your handover.
